If you're on a budget and still want to grill - that probably means you'll be using a charcoal grill as they are usually lower cost than gas grills.

Lump charcoal burns clean and hot and is easier to light. If you can get an electric grill starter rather than starter fuel to get less petroleum flavor on your food. Charcoal briquttes are harder to light (for me at least) - so you may want to use the coffee can starter to get them going.

Cooking on the grill if you have the space outside for it is great to keep cooling costs down in the summer. You also may want to focus on making cool salads instead.
